Not every action need reaction

Divya Chitre

Today we live in a world where people are full of anger and resentment which leads to inappropriate reactions. We believe in tit for tat.

Anger is one of the basic human emotions, rage, wrath, intense emotional state. It is not always bad it helps you to express your negative feeling, but excess anger leads to several problems one of them is resentment and inappropriate reaction.

Resentment is a combination of disappointment, disgust, anger, and fear. It is bitterness and anger that someone feels about something. Most of the time our resentments control our reactions.

Is it always wise to react to every situation? That is one of the important questions we should be asking ourselves. It is important to understand that we cannot control anyone’s action but what we can control is our reaction to their actions. Sometimes our actions which are driven by anger and resentment put us in very bad situations. Which we will regret for our lifetime.

How we can control our reactions?

  1. Understand your feelings (sadness, fear, anger, disappointment).
  2. Try not to rationalize your emotions.
  3. Try to remember you can control your reaction, not anyone’s action.
  4. Count slowly from 5 to 1, and try to replace every negative thought with one positive thought while doing so.
  5. Remember forgiveness is the greatest gift you can give to yourself.

Once you start practicing controlled reactions, your behavior is no longer driven by anyone’s actions. You will lead a more balanced, peaceful, and resentment-free life.

  5. Very useful write up .. human behaviour is always dependent .. it is best to realise the dependency of reaction over an action is conscious and a self chosen one or due to some one else s action. Keep writing and sharing such beautiful thoughts.
